In-App to In-Store: How ChatGenie is Merging Online and Offline Commerce

When the pandemic hit, there was a sharp change in consumer behavior that led to businesses closing in left and right. The sudden shift in purchasing patterns and the global lockdown had forced businesses to adapt quickly and digitize before they go bust. ChatGenie’s In-App Commerce enabled businesses of all sizes to transition their offline operations online. In-Store Commerce

Now that the world is slowly returning to it's pre-pandemic ways, the platform has expanded to serve customers in this new setting with In-Store Commerce. In-Store Commerce lets customers order online, use digital vouchers, and allows them to skip the queues by using the merchant’s GLife stores. It's as simple as placing an order via the store inside GCash’s GLife and going directly to the store to pick up their order as soon as it's available. Merchants can also offer easy access to their store during in-person events using a simple QR Code that will instantly link out to their online stores.

Varied executions

With the In-Store Commerce use case, there are three different possible executions: Scan-to-Order, Scan-to-Redeem, and Scan-to-get-Exclusives. Scan-to-Order allows users to do exactly that: order ahead, skip the lines, and simply pick up your order when able. It also enables merchants to accept seamless cashless transactions in an instant. Interested customers can simply scan the QR code, get access to their online store on GCash’s GLife, and pay within the app as well. Scan-to-Redeem makes eCommerce’s vouchers possible for the traditional shopping experience. Incentivize shoppers to shop cashless via In-App Commerce with special discounts and promos with this use case. Lastly, the Scan-to-get-Exclusives use case helps brands give customers a first look at new collections and exclusive items. This is perfect for secret menu offerings and early product launches.

Hybrid shopping experience

This hybrid shopping solution has already been tried and tested by one of our biggest partners, Globe Telecom. The In-Store Commerce use case was instrumental in two of their biggest offline events since the pandemic.
