ChatGenie Highlights Viability of Social Commerce in Seamless Asia Webinar

ChatGenie concluded its eCommerce webinar with Seamless Asia on Feb. 10. The online event, held as part of the Seamless Webinar series, was participated by more than 250 attendees, including entrepreneurs, up-and-coming business owners, and students.

Attendees gained insights from a group of expert panelists on the social commerce landscape in the Philippines and how they can sell better on popular apps such as Facebook Messenger and Instagram.

Citing statistics from AI solutions firm iKala, ChatGenie CEO Ragde Falcis reiterated that social commerce is here for the long run. In fact, he pointed out that social commerce is gaining traction in Southeast Asia due to rising customer acquisition costs, intense market competition, and new products to engage and sell to customers.

According to Falcis, higher conversion rates, automated and accessible checkout, and additional customer touchpoints are some of the benefits that companies can expect from starting an ecommerce venture.

Online store creator ChatGenie was touted at the event as one of the readily available eCommerce tools in the market that can help merchants solve their online selling woes.

CK Santos, ChatGenie’s Product Development Manager, provided a demonstration on how to set up ChatGenie-powered online stores in Facebook Messenger. The demo showcased the ease of adding product categories, integrating shipping and payment options, offering discounts and using built-in marketing tools with the ChatGenie dashboard.

Members of the panel who were early adopters of ChatGenie went on to share how the eCommerce solution was able to improve their business.

Pyur Tea Owner Lerizze Dizon recommended ChatGenie for small business owners, particularly solopreneurs that are running their business on their own.

Viviamo Inc. CEO and Owner Darlyn Ty-Nilo noted, however, that ChatGenie is not a magic tool that can give you increased sales overnight. Getting the most of ChatGenie is a process, she said, and one that requires optimization.

Even with the emphasis on social commerce, it’s still the business product that matters at the end of the day, RocketCommerce CEO Marvin Sandoval said.
